It Ìs easy to find things to do when your in a National Park, 30 min drive from the coast and 10 miles from Exeter. We have listed just a selection, by no means exhaustive.

Activities

Walking: is very satisfying here. We have tested some local walks for you, from an hour to the local tor and back, to 3 hrs round the valley and we have an O.S map at the house. It truly is a stunning area in which to ramble.

Mountainbiking: there is a freestyle park in Haldon Hill (20mins) and Woodbury (30mins) or you can use our Dartmoor cycling map for trails.

Canoeing: most rivers require membership of the British Canoe Association, however there is a play wave at Newbridge on the River Dart where you can just get in and have some fun.

Fishing: can be arranged with local stocked lakes and most of the Dart river can be fished with permits from the Duchy of Cornwall. Salmon and trout are very popular.

Golf: is very popular, with many courses on our doorstep from the famous Bovey Castle to the super 18 hole course at the Teigh Valley.

Horseriding: on the moor is easily arranged to suit all capabilities, pub rides can also be arranged.

Climbing: Dartmoor is 47,000 hectares of open access land and so if you want to climb you can. We have detailed maps of the area to help you and information on safety. We can also organise guides to take climbers to many different locations throughout the south west. We also have a local climbing centre (20mins) with it,s own craig with routes to suit all abilities.

Beaches

Dawlish Warren - (25mins) sand dunes, safe clean swimming, moorings and the usual seaside treats, make this a great beach that offers a bit of everything.

Exmouth - (40mins) long sandy beach with many amenities. Popular with kitesurfers and for rock pooling too.

Children

Miniature Pony Centre - (10mins)
Great for children of all ages with over 150 animals and many activities.

Castle Drogo - (35mins) Drewsteignton
The last castle to be built in England, set above the Teign Gorge with dramatic views over Dartmoor.
